As a child growing
up on a farm in Ontario, Dr Victoria Dale-Harris developed a fascination
with animals and the natural world.
At the University of Toronto. she earned a degree in zoology and geography
and then went on study veterinary medicine at the University of Guelph,
where she received her degree as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
In 1992, Dr. Dale-Harris completed a certification course in veterinary
acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.
Her studies sparked an interest in complementary and alternative medicine
and led her to pursue further studies in a variety of natural therapies,
ultimately attending the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
While Dr. Dale-Harris'
disappointment with conventional medicine triggered her search for alternatives,
she feels that both conventional and alternative therapies have a role
to play in a truly holistic approach to health and that they are not mutually
exclusive. Her emphasis is on prevention and health maintenance and she
uses a variety of methods to work with the patient to help the body heal
and restore balance.
Dr Dale-Harris believes
that the art and science of medicine is a life-long study and frequently
attends courses and seminars to update her knowledge and learn new skills.
She is a practitioner of the Bowen Technique and has completed courses
in Facial Rejuvenation (Cosmetic) Acupuncture. Her memberships include
the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Canadian Association
of Naturopathic Doctors and the College of Veterinarians of Ontario |
