Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are alternatives to botox injections. Botox injection weaken the muscles, preventing them from contracting and wrinkling, whereas dermal fillers fill in the valleys between wrinkles, allowing the muscles to continue to move.

Dermal Fillers -Frequently Asked Questions

Dermal Fillers What is Hyaluronic Acid?

We offer a complete range of 100% non-animal hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers, manufactured in Switzerland, to specially treat every area. When placed in the dermis of your skin, they combine with your body's own hyaluronic acid to generate volume for the treatment of lines, wrinkles, facial folds, and lips to replace volume lost in the aging process. Hyaluronic acid has an immediate effect and will feel very natural.

What is it made of?

Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that has been stabilized for a longer lasting effect in skin. The manufacturing process is similar to the production of antibiotics.

Are Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers Safe?

Hyaluronic acid we use is made from a natural substance and contains no known allergens or animal proteins. The manufacturing process is completed in a sterile environment in adherence to the highest standards.

How is HA different from other dermal fillers?

The hyaluronic acid we use is the newest generation of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. The latest science and technology has been utilized to offer a gentle treatment with limited side effects. They have the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any currently available. These higher concentrations offer long-lasting results.

How to I prepare for treatment?

It is suggested to avoid taking Aspirin, Advil, Vitamin E and alcohol 2 weeks prior to treatment to reduce bruising. Also, the oral intake of Arnica may reduce bruising.

What happens during treatment?

Hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin to provide volume. One treatment session takes approximately 30-90 minutes depending on the number of areas treated. The results are immediate. You may experience mild swelling and redness but most patients are able to work immediately after treatment.

How long does it last?

Individual results may vary depending on factors such as lifestyle, age, and the degree of correction required. For the majority of patients results last 6 to 12 months and even longer in some cases. A 2 week follow up is important to assess your results.

Do Dermal Filler injections hurt?

Hyaluronic acid is injected with a very fine needle and most patients have a topical anesthetic applied to reduce the sensation in folds and wrinkles. Lips can be more sensitive and often require anesthesia, similar to a freezing block your dentist may administer for dental work.

What are the side effects?

Side effects of a dermal filler treatment may include minimal swelling and redness and occasionally bruising. Other less common side effects include minor lumps, itching, and tenderness which usually disappear within a couple of days. To date, no reports on permanent side effects or scarring have been reported using this product.

What happens after treatment?

Your skin might be a little pink with slight swelling. It is important not to expose treated areas to extreme hot or cold temperatures. You should also avoid blood thinning products such as Aspirin and Advil which may cause bruising and swelling.

How much does a treatment cost?

Your age, lifestyle and the degree of correction determines the amount of product required and therefore the cost of the treatment. We will evaluate and determine this for you.

Where does the product go?

Hyaluronic acid is absorbed slowly over several months, and your skin will adjust to the loss of the product.
