Lose weight and look great by eating cherries.

It’s summer, which means that life is literally a “bowl full of cherries for most of us.” There are many reasons why you should go ahead and enjoy this delicious fruit while it is in season. Cherries are like tiny “nutrition bombs” that contain all kinds of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that nourish your mind and body. Not only that, eating cherries in moderation can also assist you with your weight loss efforts, a well as keep you looking beautiful

The Anti-Aging and Weight Loss Benefits of Eating Raw Cherries

Raw cherries possess all kinds of benefits for your health. Here is a short-list of just a few of the marvelous things that they can do for your health.

*Cherries are a natural diuretic that helps cleanse the arteries and liver
*Cherries clear uric acid from oints and reduce inflammation helping older people to exercise more often
*The flavonoids in cherries help prevent the bad cholesterol from collecting in arteries and also help the body recover quickly from exercise
*Cherries are an excellent source of fiber, helping to flatten the tummy and sweep debris out of the intestines.
*They are very rich in both Vitamin A and C, which help fight inflammation and insulin resistance
*Cherries are rich in minerals such as iron, boron, and calcium, which help nourish the blood and relieve insomnia
*Cherries are rich in the mineral potassium, which helps your body stay hydrated so that you look younger

How to Include More Cherries in Your Daily Diet

The absolute best way to consume cherries is to eat them raw as cooking them destroys their Vitamin C and antioxidant content.  Frozen cherries can be consumed out of season and will retain the same nutrition as the fresh ones.

It does not matter what type of cherries that you use. Yellow cherries have a bit more Vitamin A in them the red ones. The sourer the cherry is, the more of a cleansing effect it might have on the liver. The blacker a cherry is, the more likely it is to contain a lot of sugar, so diabetics or dieters might want to take note of this.

Make a fresh cherry limeade diuretic drink by whirling a half-cup of pitted fresh or frozen cherries in a blender with some ice and a bit of honey, Truvia or maple syrup. Pour into a tall glass and serve with mint and a lime garnish.

Make a Raw Cherry and Rice Milk soda. Mix a handful of pitted fresh or frozen cherries with a cup of rice milk in a tall ice-filled glass. Top off with club soda or sparkling mineral water to make a pink Japanese style weight loss beverage.

Make a savory Cherry Salsa. Chop up pitted fresh cherries with red onions, garlic and cucumbers, garlic and a handful of cilantro.  Season with lemon juice and a bit of olive oil.

Of course one of the small, guilt-free pleasures in life is simply eating a bowl of cherries raw.
